The Urban Development Corporation of TT (Udecott) explained last Friday that material had «dislodged» from the south-east section of the north chamber due to «a combination of the age of the ceiling and condensation caused by the air conditioning system in the chamber’s attic. The ceiling had undergone restoration work during the restoration project on the Red House. It reopened in 2020.

Udecott said the process to repair and reinforce the air condition and ducting system was underway and further analysis was being conducted by mechanical, electrical and plumbing design consultant ENCO
A decision was taken to close access to the chamber to complete the remedial works. Udecott assured the north chamber will be ready for occupation «in short order.»
Yesterday, Udecott officials couldn’t give the status of the job or completion date
Also contacted on the issue, Leader of Government Business Camille Robinson-Regis said no rehabilitation work had begun and Udecott was still examining the issues to determine the best solution
